It’s all friendly fun at the Ponsonby Bowling Club.
Pssstt! Over here, behind the styley apartment blocks on Jervois Road. See this oasis of green? This right here is the country’s second oldest bowling club, established in 1893. Not that anything about the Ponsonby Bowling Club comes across as remotely old-fashioned, thanks to the brand spanking clubrooms in the ground floor of said apartments, and the two state-of-the-art greens. Casual, or corporate players are just as welcome, as are your children, with DVDs playing, and mini-bowls set up indoors. Speaking of indoors, we should probably mention the light food and fully stocked bar that’s available too. The dress code is casual, and there’s only rule; have a great time! Rally your colleagues, or mates, and come on down for a truly good laugh at this hidden inner-city gem.
