It’s not just us who thinks Caro’s Wine Merchants on Mackelvie Street is second to none. For the last decade Metro Magazine have given them the No 1 spot as well. The whole experience of going there is special. Even their architecture award winning building, with its steeply pitched roof, adds to the sense that this place truly is a shrine to wine. Make sure you venture to the upstairs tasting room, where regular gatherings and Bob Campbell’s MW Wine Certificate Courses are held. Downstairs, the staff are friendly and as you’d expect, exceptionally knowledgeable – we’ve never had a recommendation that disappointed.
